# Token Recovery

## How to recover tokens from a lost wallet

In the event that one of your investors loses access to their wallet there are a few simple steps you can take to recover them;

1. Block the tokens for the selected investor, this will secure them and ensure that no actions go through while they don't have control of the wallet.
2. Navigate to **Investors**  --> **Investor list** and select the **Investor** by selecting the "eye" symbol.![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/6bcc3eaa-f2b2-4847-be07-f34bf6c27916)
3. You can then select **"Token recovery".![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/7d8e3ad7-8ef1-406f-96dc-30ce355d7e9a)**
4. From here you can confirm the token address.![](https://support.tokeny.com/hubfs/Screenshot%202022-12-30%20at%2011-38-10-png.png)
5. Finally, enter the new Wallet address to be associated with the investor.![](https://support.tokeny.com/hubfs/Screenshot%202022-12-30%20at%2011-38-21-png.png)
6. Select **"Change wallet address"**, the tokens will then effectively be force transferred to the new wallet.  Their **ONCHAINID** will be associated with the new Wallet address automatically and their investor profile will be updated.

The investor can now access their *new* wallet and to*kens as normal.*

> *N.B.*  This is fundamentally from a **force transfer,** as a **force transfer** cannot be executed to an address that has not been whitelisted.
>
> A **Token recovery** essentially whitelists the new address , moves the tokens and then revokes the old address.
